Journey through loan modification …

I am going to share with you; dear reader, my story about loan modification.

Starting with financial melt down and the biggest recession of my life time in U.S., our home that me and my wife live in lost almost 25% of its initial value. At the same time I lost/quite my second job, I am saying LOST since, it was part time and I was working for a Chinese distribution company between 6-8 hrs in the afternoon. They decreased my hours to bear minimum working hours in a sense that staying there would be almost as if I had no job. So I had to leave the position.  Comes to time, the expanses   and you know the story …

The time came to request for loan modification. My original loan was with a company called Chase with the worst customer service of all time I have experienced in my life. I have a though time dealing with them. In a sense that any time that we get one of those coupons in our mail box which says it pays $100 to open a checking account I tell my wife f*** it. Anyway, I started the whole entire process of loan modification back on June 2010.Of course I did not want to pay someone to do it for me; I wanted to do it myself. With that wishful thinking, till December, when my loan got transferred to LBPS, there were still no progress, just multiple back and forwards of missing documents.

LBPS (Seterus as of July 9) have much better customer service. After a while of correspondence, my loan went to forbearance agreement (a period of small forgiveness to see what happens). We are still negotiating with the lender hand-full of documents hoping to get the HAMP (home affordable modification program).

And the journey goes on….  . I will keep you updated!
